Quiet asphalt, in which reflective material has been incorporated, is just as quiet as normal quiet asphalt and can be used for road works. Due to the reflection in the asphalt, less street lighting is required, which saves energy. This is evident from research commissioned by the province of Groningen (located in the Northern Netherlands). By installing reflective asphalt, the province can save up to 30 percent on public lighting.
